I grew up in a diverse family as one of four adopted children, including a sibling born in South Korea. From an early age, I became aware of cultural differences, identity, and marginalization — experiences that shaped my lasting curiosity about how culture, family systems, and life events influence who we become.
I became a social worker because of this deep interest in people’s stories, particularly how individuals navigate significant life transitions, grief, and emotional change. In my hospital and oncology work, I was drawn not just to circumstances or diagnoses, but to the human experience beneath them — identity shifts, resilience, loss, and the emotional impact of major life events.
Having relocated five times myself, including from the United States to the Netherlands where I now live, I understand how living abroad intersects with everyday challenges such as career changes, illness, relationship shifts, and evolving identity.
Today, I support adults and couples navigating the full range of life’s transitions while living internationally.
My approach is grounded in curiosity, cultural awareness, and a strong belief in connection. I offer a steady, thoughtful space where clients can process change and move forward with greater clarity and support.
I take a compassionate, client-centered approach, blending evidence-based therapeutic techniques with relational and psychosocial insights. I support adults navigating major life transitions by helping them process difficult emotions, explore shifts in identity and relationships, and manage stress. My focus is on understanding each person as a whole, nurturing resilience, self-awareness, and personal growth, and providing a safe and supportive space where clients can feel heard, gain clarity, and move forward with greater confidence and connection.
