The heart of my practice is based on the belief that, despite life's hardships, our deepest longings are to grow, heal, and form meaning in our life and within our relationships. However, when life presents us with painful or overwhelming experiences, those natural tendencies can be compromised. We might feel stuck, isolated, or even estranged from our true selves. It's in these moments of struggle that therapy can offer profound relief.
In our work together, I focus on you as a whole person to help establish your aims and goals. I see certain ways of coping, which are often deeply engrained, to have emerged from your unique history and need to protect yourself. Together, we will gently explore these patterns, their origins, and how they may be keeping you from living a more fulfilling life.
Therapy with me is a collaborative process, grounded in empathy and acceptance. My integrative approach means I draw from different therapeutic modalities to meet your specific needs. Whether you're navigating the pain of loss, the weight of trauma, or the challenges of everyday life, my goal is to help you rediscover your inner strength and ability to heal.
As part of my extensive clinical training, my training also required me to be in personal therapy. This helped me to see from a clients perspective what it meant to engage in therapy, as well as experience the different modalities available. This has guided the approaches I use within therapy.
I am trained in a number of different counselling styles, including Integrative and Existential Approach.
As part of my practice, I strive to adapt these approaches to my client's individual needs.
